Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (R.C.I.A) - For information about participating in R.C.I.A. please call the Parish Office at (507)373-0603 or email the parish office at: [email protected]
The rite of Christian initiation is designed for adults who, after hearing the mystery of Christ proclaimed, consciously and freely seek the living God and enter the way of faith and conversion as the Holy Spirit opens their Hearts (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults [RCIA], #1)
Typically, the pastor, parish staff, and some volunteers are involved in the parish's RCIA ministry. But it is important to affirm that this ministry of the Church is not reserved soley to those who are on the parish RCIA team. All parish members, as baptized Catholics, have a vital role to play in this ministry and a responsibility to ehlp the catechumens and candidates as they journey through the various periods of the RCIA. Each believer is called upon to participate in the initiation of adults by getting to know and praying for the catechumens and candidates, and by being prepared to assist them on their path to "seek the living God and enter the way of faith and conversion" (RCIA, #1).
